Alpiq divests its share in Romande Energie Commerce

Lausanne – Alpiq has sold its 11.8%-share in Romande Energie Commerce SA to the company's existing shareholders. The main acquirer is the Romande Energie Group. Alpiq will use the proceeds from the sale to further reduce net debt. Alpiq is continuing to consistently implement the Group’s transformation.

Alpiq sold its block of 18,000 shares in Romande Energie Commerce SA on 9 March. The Romande Energie Group decided to exercise its full pre-emption rights and acquired 14,420 of the shares. The balance of the shares was acquired by three of the current shareholders of Romande Energie Commerce SA: SIE SA, Forces Motrices de l’Avançon SA and the municipality of Bussigny-près-Lausanne. The parties have agreed not to disclose the sales price.

Romande Energie Commerce SA is the largest electricity distribution company in French-speaking Switzerland, with more than 300,000 end customers and some 3 terawatt hours of electricity sold.
