In the face of a challenging environment, Alpiq Holding Ltd. (Alpiq Group) delivered satisfactory results for the first half of 2010. While EBITDA increased by 1.8 per cent to CHF 735 million, EBIT fell by 4.6 per cent to CHF 482 million. Consolidated revenue was slightly lower than a year ago at CHF 7.041 billion (down 0.8 per cent).

Alpiq Holding Ltd. has started the year 2010 successfully: Compared to the same period of the previous year net sales increased by 1.9 percent to 3.71 billion Swiss francs. It was possible to increase the EBITDA by 20.5 percent to 429 million Swiss francs.

André Regli has held the post as new Swiss Ambassador to the Czech Republic since March 2010. Following a meeting with representatives of Alpiq last May in Prague, he visited the power station in Kladno at the end of June.
